Lee Gale Gruen started acting 19 years ago after retiring from her 37-year career as a probation officer. She has appeared in television, videos, commercials, theater, and print. She portrayed patients at UCLA Medical School for 10 years. She was an exercise/dancer in the 2011 "Jane Fonda's Prime Time Firm & Burn" workout DVD, and was in a 2016 Super Bowl commercial. Her transition to becoming an actress in her senior years has been written about in Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times newspaper, AARP, and in Marlo Thomas' 2014 book, It Ain't Over...Till It's Over, which profiles women who have reinvented themselves.
Lee Gale's memoir about her second career as an actress is Adventures with Dad: A Father and Daughter's Journey Through a Senior Acting Class. She has been blogging for over eight years and lectures publicly on senior reinvention. Her blog, lecture, and new self-help book share the same title: Reinventing Yourself in Your Retirement Years: Find Joy, Excitement, and Purpose After You Retire. Both of her books are available on Amazon by clicking here and here.
